Come and celebrate 20 years of DC Arts Center's supporting emerging and underserved visual and performing artists. The occassion is a perfect setting to honor the vision of the founders, the dynamic activity of the present and the the visionary dreams of the future! This unique event will feature exciting art, exillerating performance, dancing to a live band, food, and a joyous and ecclectic mix of artists, art lovers, and art supporters. All of this bubbling over in the historic and beautiful Georgian mansion, Halcyon House, located in Georgetown with spectacular garden views of the Potomac River and home to the spacious underground sculpture studio of artist John Dreyfuss.
The happenings get underway at 6:30 with cocktails and light fare in the gardens and ballroom of the Mansion. There will also be a special VIP reception for the founders, our board of directors, the invitation committee and special level donors from 6:30 to 7:30. At 8:00 the Studio opens for dancing to the sultry and swinging Jenn and the Tonics along with desserts and more cocktails. Throughout the evening there will be performances, exhibited art, video projections, sound installation, dance and more.
Artists who will be presenting work include Alberto Gaitan, Quique Aviles, Silvana Straw, Buck Downs, Katheryn Cornelius, Gretchen Schermerhorn, Jose Ruiz, Jefferson Pinder, David Hartwell, Jeffrey Cudlin and Meg Mitchell and more to be announced.
